What is Worker’s Compensation?
Worker’s compensation is an insurance that compensates an employee if he/she gets injured on the job. All employers are required to carry worker’s compensation insurance. All employees, full time or part time, are covered under Worker's Compensation.
What is covered?
Medical treatment and related services must be provided for all occupation injuries to cure and relieve the injured employee. Worker's Compensation will also compensate an employee for partial wage replacement for work missed due to the injury.
Why do I need an attorney?
Most businesses have in-house departments that handle workers’ compensation claims, however these people are not attorneys. They handle the paperwork and procedural aspects of the claim. If the insurance company denies your claim, the in-house department cannot assist you.
